    SBC 383 with unisteer

Has anyone built a '33 with a SBC (383) (factory oil pan) and installed the unisteer (electric power steering)? I hear it will fit but may need to be clocked down, which is scary with the already low ride height. If someone has done this, what challenges/modifications did you have to do and can you post any pictures?

Go look at the LS3 thread right below this one.
At the end of that thread you will see a link to pics of how to mount the uni-steer out of your way.

Hi Dale! I'll give the firewall mounting option a go! It's good to have options with changing the oil pan as a back-up...
    Thanks,

    Hi Dale,
I just went out to the shop and measured the clearance on mine (putting a straight edge across the bottom of the frame rails), and the lowest point on the uni-steer is 1/4" lower than the frame rails. My header flanges are also a 1/4' lower. I am sure I knock the grille off before I hit the uni-steer.

Yes, being that the bottom of the frame in the front angles up toward the radiator, the bottom of the body hangs down a few inches past he frame anyway. So having an oil pan or steering unit hanging down a bit should not be an issue.
