818C Rear Firewall Gap

Ok, so we saw this some time ago but decided to continue on and we would probably see the answer as we moved through the build. However, it appears that we missed something along the way.

On both sides of the car we have a large gap in the rear firewall. The gap is under the ends of the firewall on each side where the body panels are. I kept thinking we were going to close those sides off with a piece of heavy aluminum at some point but I don't see anything in any of the manuals or updates that covers it. And I don't see any parts that look like they should go there. We have manual updates 1P, 1Q and 1S. Are there any others that we are missing. I've never seen a 1R or 1T?

Here is a picture of the gap in the driver's side. It is hard to see as I am taking a picture over the seat aimed down.
