Motul 300 LS fluid with Quaife LSD

    Hey guys--

I have a quaife LSD in my 5MT. Should I run 300 LS fluid? Or just regular fluid? I have LS in there now but the car hasn't been run under its own power since the diff install. Any insight?

Helical diffs such as your Quaife unit, or OBX units, do not require limited slip additives. Additives are necessary for clutch-type options such as the Cusco units that are dependent on the friction characteristics of the diff fluid (which in the Subaru case is also the trans fluid). So you should just run Subaru's recommended gear oil type and pick a brand you like.
