    Steering Rack Line Connections Question

    Hello All,

I'm working on the steering rack and have a question. I know there are two lines we should connect together on the long tube of the rack. However what to do with the 4 that are at the base of the gear itself? Do you put a piece of 'something' in the ports so they do not leak or can you just cap them off?

    Thanks
    Glenn

    Glenn,

If you look at the pic below it shows how to hook up a rack. I think what you are asking about is the four at the base are two for high and low and two that run to the rack it self. The low pressure like side is where you would have a remote reservoir.

Yes ,cap them off. They're not needed when converting to a manual rack . I filled the fittings with JB weld and screwed them back in.

I did the same (weld instead of jb weld but the same). Works perfectly.
