Obituary for Charles Robertson

Charles "Chuck" Willard Robertson Jr., 70, born January 18, 1948 passed away on January 25, 2018.

Chuck was born in Chicago, IL and was raised in Milwaukee, WI. Chuck graduated from Brookfield Central High School in 1966. After high school he received a diploma from Kenosha Technical Institute. Chuck was drafted into the Vietnam war in 1968 and served his country in the Army. He served in Korea's DMZ as Private First Class Military Police until 1970. After serving in Korea he joined his parents in Mesa, AZ and started working for Empire Machinery as a field mechanic. He later moved to Las Vegas and had a long and wonderful career at Cashman Equipment, First, as a mechanic than later, as a heavy equipment salesman. No one knew heavy equipment like Chuck.

In 1982, Chuck's life changed when he met and married his better half, Penny. They raised their two wonderful children, Charles and Rebecca in Las Vegas until Chuck retired from heavy machinery sales in 2003. He than started his own business, Las Vegas Performance Roadsters, building Factory Five Cobras. Wanting to get away from Las Vegas he fell in love with Prescott and built his retirement home in 2010. He loved the trees. the small town life, the friends he shared it with and even spent some time as a auto mechanics teacher at Yavapai College.

To know Chuck was to know his passion for life and he lived it to the fullest. He approached everything he did with exuberance and excellence. He was recognized among his peers for the cars he built and drove. His pride and joy was the Factory Five Cobra that he built with his son, Charles and completed in 2001. Dedicated to Ford, it's a shame he didn't get to star in his own commercial, he certainly had the vehicles for it. His passion wasn't limited to cars, he also loved boating, snowmobiling, hunting, riding 4-wheelers, cheering for the AZ Cardinals, watching NASCAR, being Rebecca's #1 fan when she sang at church on Sundays and, of course, spending time with his family. The only regret Chuck had toward the end of life was that his body was getting older, while he was the same 12 year old kid on the inside.

Chuck loved being there for others. Whenever his kids needed advice they knew they could count on Dad. He prepared his children to thrive in this world through love and strong guidance. He truly lived his Motto: God, Family, Country. Chuck knew everyday was a gift and lived that way. He truly was a man's man and his faith was solid. People knew they could lean on him for his strength and honesty.

Chuck will be missed by so many people. His sweet, dedicated, favorite person to be in the passenger seat, best friend and wife of 35 years, Penny. His children and their spouses, Charles & Kara and Rebecca & Luther, who never doubted their Dad & father-in-law's love and pride for them. His grandkids: Sawyer, Lyla, Hazel, Kora and Bennett (whom he called lil' Chuck), who loved their Papa very much. His sister, Sharon. His friends who were like family, the "Elders", and his Factory Five family.

Chuck is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Marion and, recently in December 2017, his beloved sister Anita.

Just a reminder... Chuck's service is Friday 3/2/18. Specifics are in previous post that is now in the Checker Flag Forum.
