    Other engine choices for coupe

I see the 87-95 are usable and the coyote, but what about other years like 2012 -2013 ?

They're all possible with a little work. I'm going the LS route. Mounts and headers are easy to fabricate.

I'm curious, do people have strong feelings one way or the other with putting different brands/sizes of motors in? Given that these car's are replicas and not original, do people care what goes into them?

You may have a harder time selling when not staying somewhat true to the brand... "Ford". I considered an LS but want to be able to sell one day without explaining myself till I'm blue in the face.

Some people dork out about keeping it Ford, most don't. It doesn't really make sense since it's not an original car. I'm building mine for almost strictly competition, so the LS just works better all around. I have no doubts I'll be able to sell it when I'm ready.

You could always put an Austin Healey front clip and a Hemi in one...
