Give this search a try. Tons of great info.
Several fellows have done very nice under car exhaust systems and have done so using Spintech Low Profile mufflers:

I did mine with spintech mufflers and oval pipe. With the new IRS it is nearly impossible to exit in the rear. Mine just exit in front of the rear tires.

I did mine with spin tech 7000 series mufflers and 2 1/4 inch pipe, went all the way out the back. Worked great

Maybe overkill or impossible, but could you run two smaller pipes down each side and a collector at the muffler? Maybe it would not help at all but it would seem to give more room underneath.

I think overkill, I’m using 2 1/4 round, and haven’t had any problems. It hangs just below the floorboards, maybe 3/16 clearance.
