    Massachusetts Car Insurance

Can you MA residents advise who you use for an insurance company/agency for collision, comprehensive & liability for your Roadster?

my normal company (Liberty) wouldn't do it. They said if they cant put a 17 digit VIN in the computer, they cant go any further. This must be something new as they insured my 818 a few years ago. Anyways I just used Mapfre (sp) insurance They will want an appraisal for fire theft and collision.

Just curious why it matters you are in MA. There are forum sponsors that can help with insurance. I went with Hagerty. I live in FL so I’m not familiar with MA insurance limitations if there are any.

Unfortunately we can't have nice things here in the People's Republik. Everything is heavily regulated and many companies choose not to deal with it. Some would say we have the worst drivers, but I have driven in most states across the country and would beg to differ.

I'm checking with my current insurer now since my build is getting close to done, but will follow Duke or Mike's lead if I get a hassle.

Haggerty would not do it because MA titles the car in the year that it was finished. Mine being a 2018 They wont insure anything newer than 25 years.

Interesting. My Mk2 is titled as a 2002 assembled vehicle and Haggerty was fine with that.

Interesting. Hagerty will not insure any Cobra replica's in Canada.

Thank you for the suggestions, I tried Midwest Classic and no new business at all in MA...I have all my other cars with Commerce so I should be all set even with the deer in the headlights look when I mentioned a kit car to my agent!
