    Moving Accelerator pedal assembly

Ok, so I was adjusting my Forte mechanical accelerator linkage and noticed that if I moved my accelerator pedal stock location clockwise a couple of degrees by redrilling the top hole, it all might line up better.

So right now, in it’s stock 2 bolt location, the top fastening bolt for the pedal sits at about the 10 or 11 o’clock position, while the bottom bolt is at about a 6 o’clock position. Any issues with aligning these straight up and down by drilling another hole for the top bolt?

I forget exactly what I changed, but I did drill a new hole and change it, I have the same throttle linkage too.
I did it to get the pedal a bit further away from the footbox wall.
Make sure you make a pedal stop. I put a 3/4 square aluminum Behind the pedal mount so that the pedal hits it at full throttle

Thanks Murd. One question on that. The way the pedal is setup, it hits the 3/4” cross brace at the top when pushed all the way down. Would this serve the same purpose as the pedal stop or should it be reconfigured?

In my opinion your gas pedal stop should be adjustable. I set my stop so the pedal hits it when the carb throttle plate has just a tiny bit more to go to be fully open. The idea is there is a lot more force in your leg than you may realize, and you don't want the carb to be the stop because it would be very easy to bend the throttle plate or other small parts in the carb.

I set the lever arms for my mechanical linkage so that they hit the firewall just before WOT, and the arm for the Russ Thompson pedal hits the pedal mounting plate on the foot box frame. I also slid the connecting rod for the throttle body down in the lever arm slot to make the throttle less sensitive (the connecting rod for the RT pedal is at the top of the slot in the lever arm); you can see the connecting rod attachment in the upper right corner of the second picture below.

I have the same linkage, may have the pictures on my build. The thing about the pedal stop, I tweaked the pedal angle, so it would hit the back of the wall. So no block needed. (you just need to adjust the center screw to open or close the pedal arms)
Life is short, so start living it.
