Headlight buckets, paint or no paint?

Will I have issues with painting the headlight buckets? Will the paint bubble under the lenses from overheating in the sunlight? I want to keep them black but I would love to put a better finish on them. Anyone have any experience with this?

If you prep them properly and use good paint they won't bubble. I never had that happen myself.

Same here. I prepped, sanded to 300, and sprayed with gloss black for plastic. After 2 years in searing desert sun there's no bubbling or cracking. Since this photo, I filled the lower edge with black silicon for a smooth border.
