MK4 Build - Coilover Hat Snap Rings

    Guys

I just started assembling the shocks and realized than none of the coilover hats have snap rings installed. The manual states to remove the snap ring to assemble the shock then install the snap ring again. Strange that not one of the hats came with snap rings. Did something change recently ?

    thanks!

My kit was also delivered without snap rings. I called FFR and they sent them to me.

Are the spring "hats" an FFR or Koni part?

Pretty sure they are a koni part. The snap rings are not absolutely needed as long as the car stays on the ground. They are good to have for jacking up the car and in case you would ever get a wheel airborne over a rise in the road.

That was going through my mind too and wondered if that was why they never included them with the kit.

I think that was just an error. A friend building a MkIV has them and I helped install them kind of after the fact.

I originally thought they were missing, but then found them in some obscure box. They were simply labeled as snap rings and no details.
