    Need Help finding Axle C-clip

Hoping someone can help me out here. I'm swapping out axles on one of the GTM's I have in the shop here.......removing the CV's from the existing axles and swapping them over to new axles. The first thing I did was pull the Corvette outer off of the old axle to install it on the new axle....only to find that the C-clip/spring clip that holds the axle into the CV is missing. In other words, the only thing holding the outer CV on the shaft is the CV boot. It is not a snap ring.....it's just a C shaped clip made from round spring wire. Yes, I looked inside the boot and also down inside the CV to make sure it didn't get cut in half during installation or fell off the end of the shaft once the shaft was thru the CV. It's just not here and I'm assuming the other axle is probably the same and that they were never installed from the beginning.

I've called every single parts store near me and no one has one. Called the local GM dealership and they don't even call out a part number for that clip and can't order one and don't have any on hand (or maybe they do and don't know it since they don't even show a part number for it?). I've called "The Driveshaft Shop" thinking they might stock such a thing....no luck. Called Ian at Mendeola and he has had the same luck as me in finding them.....none. The only solution I could think of....and what Ian also mentioned....is to find CV boot kits that show the C clip as part of the boot kit and buy the whole boot kit just to get these little spring wire clips that should be $0.20 each. Anyone out there have a source for these?

In this pic of the boot kit, you can see that it comes with the C clip I'm talking about. I'd really rather not spend $200 on two little pieces of wire.

If you have a place close any that rebuilds CV's they usually have a ton of those laying around. I had luck with a place called Raxles here in FL.

I live out in the middle of nowhere, so I don't have anywhere local that rebuilds CV's.

Tim.....those look like they have some potential! Thanks for the links!
