Is it a bad idea to go cart witout using tbe supplied exhaust hanger? The reason I ask is I would imagine that placement would change once you get the body fitted correctly?
Thanks Craig

I drove mine for 4 years and 3500 miles over some pretty rough roads with no issues. Because of the height of my pipes I couldn't use the FFR supplied hangers and ended up making my own and installing them as a winter project this year. A few go cart miles should be fine.
I used some metal strap to make hangers from the door hinges to the pipes. I don't want to put the real hangers on until the car is basically finished.

Did you just rap them around the muffler onto the hinges or use the muffler mounted hole?

many guys dont use the han
gers at all ...ever. If you are running headers I doubt you will have any problem
I always advise to use the hangers on completed cars but you'll be fine to make a couple runs around the block as a go-cart (I don't get the whole 10-20-50 miles as a go-cart thing but that's just me ). Absolutely wait until the body is in it's final position before installing the hangers permanently; the rocker panels have to move in &/or out for panel fitting which often means making adjustments or adding shims to get the pipes parallel to the body.
Jeff
I agree with Jeff. You will be fine for a couple of go kart runs.
I recommend them. However, I have broken a header twice, once with and once without hangers. Some guys have run for years without them and no issues.

Just hook a bungie strap on the door hinge and the other end in the pipe.
I run with no hangers so far. 1400 miles.
I think my headers from 2005 were made by another supplier but, 41000 miles w/o hangers and all is well.
