Red face Traveler and his Luggage rack

I am planning to travel over to THE London Car show but my old luggage rack has begun to show some wear! So what's a traveler without his luggage rack and leather suitcase strapped on.

This was my original luggage rack. One of the legs bent in one of our moves. I liked the design I made so now is my chance to improve on the design. I brought home a collection of square and round metal rods and began to frame out a new luggage rack.

And here is the beginning of my new slightly improved design

I took some old boards and made a jig to frame up the luggage rack. I'll weld it up tomorrow, have it painted to be ready for the trip to Ohio!
And of course with my leather suitcase!

The stuff I do to get away from the computer!

    See you in London, Ohio!

Time has slowed me down a bit but the traveling is still a joy to fire up the ol'Mark I and just headout on the road. Sun or Rain doesn't matter just the enjoyment of being out driving is still there!
And to those that have asked I did update my signature line with the miles

Wow! I am truly impressed by the mileage. That and the rain or shine attitude. I'll be at London and it would be a great honor to meet you. Jim - just a puppy in comparison.

This is NOT in the "class" of some of the awesome mods and features that I've seen on the newly build cars!
It's amazing the engineering some of you have done while building a car!!

I'm just doing this as a way to carry a suitcase - clothes etc while traveling.
I'm not a welder by trade but have fun playing with my welder when I have a moment.
Now am adding the adjustable legs to it and the "hoop" to hold the suitcase from sliding.
Then the rubber D weather stripping on the rails with the straps and I'll be ready for the LCS!

Just stuff to do when you want to try something different.

    See you at the LCS!
