Dash electrical connector recommendation needed

Getting ready to start my dash wiring, I want to be able to disconnect the dash after its completed via electrical connectors. I’m in need of a source for these electrical connectors for my dash to frame connections.

Are you using something other than the Ron Francis harness? Because it already has connectors from the dash harness to the main harness.

I did not use the Ron Francis wiring harness,so I’m searching for usable connectors. I’ll check out your link, hopefully it will be useful.

I did not use the Ron Francis wiring system either and ended up using Molex style connectors from Mouser.

You can get housings for up to 15 connections.

I built a lower switch panel, and wanted a modular plug design. I used 2ea 12-pin Molex connectors. Easy to work with.

I'm a big fan of Deutsch connectors. For terminals I use aviation only and would never use the standard automotive stuff.

I used Anderson Power Poles on my dash. Their small series accepts 15, 30, or 45 amp contacts all in the same housing. This way, you can size each contact for the wire, plus I ordered individual colored housings and color coded my connectors. Each housing has dovetails that allow you to build a modular connector. I already had access to a set of their $40 "Tri-crimp" crimper, so I didn't have to shell out for that. They fit snug enough to not come apart, but they also release much easier than other types of connectors. (I also used their plastic retainers on my connectors. Just in case...) Besides the SpeedHut connectors, my entire dash is connected by 4 modular connectors. My wiring is not the cleanest example for sure, but it's manageable.

+1 for Deutsch DT or equivalent, these are sealed and are used on a lot of construction equipment. The machined pins are better than stamped and formed unless we have the proper ($$$) crimping tool.

I have plenty of weatherpack and molex connectors along with the crimp tool, if you are still looking. You're welcome to whatever you need. Count up how many connections you plan to make of large vs smaller gauge and I'll hook you up. I got away with a single 12 position plug for light gauge wire, and a single 4 position heavier gauge. so only 2 plugs for the whole dash.
