I've also noticed that since the site was down for maintenance over the weekend topics are slow to open.

Same - both on my home network, mobile WiFi, and the network at the office, so it's gotta be on the forum's end.

Dave posted in the other thread that he is aware of it being slow and is working on it. I'm sure he'll get it back up to full throttle.

Took forever for the site to load this morning, and once on it was near impossible to navigate anywhere, or get threads to come up on the screen.

    The forum has become unusable.
I’m not trying to pile on, but this is now too slow to use.
Just curious what happened that caused the “unscheduled maintenance” and what is happening that is causing this site to grind to a halt.
Not a criticism, I am a manager in I.T. so I get it, just wondering what’s going on.
You hear from people when things break but don’t when they work. That’s my life.
Again, thanks for all you do. I guess it’s more professional curiosity than anything else that I ask.

Maybe it's because of all the extra data that has to load up for the "likes" and "thanks" ::

    Ha!

Along with the "dislike" I'm not sure we need a "like". Just an opinion.
I'd rather tell someone their car is awesome in 4 words than "like" the post.
Or tell them their tip or suggestion helped me in words rather than a "like".
Maybe just the "thank you" I would use.
If I liked something, I would want to tell that person I liked it in words in a post. I know I would rather get responses from folks over "like" counts.

Faster but still messed up. I just typed a short reply in a thread and hit 'post quick reply' I get a popup asking if I want to 'leave site' and if I do leave some info may be lost. Same as yesterday. So I hit leave and a new reply window pops up w/ my text already in it. So, since I left, and it said if I left I might lose data, I hit 'post quick reply'. Then I get a popup saying I need to wait another 12 seconds before I can post. I back out of that, click on another thread, back out of that, and click on the original thread, and there I have two identical posts one below the other..

Yeah, when something breaks I always ask what changed?
There were two things, the infamous "unscheduled maintenance" and the feedback buttons.
Ah the life of a forum admin.... Poor David.
I ate chicken salad tonight in hopes of bringing speediness to the forum.

Better this AM. The home pg popped right up but the 'Roadster' took maybe 10 seconds. Each thread takes 5-10 seconds but it's better than it has been.
Edit to add; it posted the above just fine but the 'Edit' button took 10 seconds to load so I could add this.

It's still messed up. You will continue to see bursts of speed as they test.

I'm really sorry guys. I'm just letting the techs do their thing.

I'll of course notify you of any status change.
