Getting back on the truck build , hope to have it running next week , doing lots of little things that need to be done before starting
also I added another piece to the dashboard to hold the switchs, will also install warning and blinker lights in that piece, I want the dashboard to be as clean as possible, nothing on it !

Good idea. I am concerned with the lack of support also.
Is that another brace I see in your second photo down above the suspension arm?

Did you remove the bar behind the seats or just move it up along with the angled brackets? Or is it still in the same place just can't see it behind those seats? Which look very comfy for long trips by the way.

yep I cut it out , never like the look of the cross bar and with it removed I moved the seats back almost 2 inches and that helped a lot in giving extra leg room. my seat belts have a shoulder strap that will mount right where I removed the cross bar. Herb

Took a sharpie and marked off 1 inch squares on the firewall , using a 2 inch 3m pad in my drill press , I tried it on the back side first to make sure I was happy with it. Have to admit it I stole the idea to do the engine turning form Tom !

    Herb,

Are the top sections of the seats now behind the roll cage frame? And, if so, are you certain they will fit inside the body? I'm asking as I don't know how close the roll bar is to the inside of the back of the cab.

    Herb,
We mechanical engineers call that structure "Statically Indeterminate" . Here's a wiki on the subject. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statically_indeterminate

Do you have plans to replace it somewhere else maybe or eliminate it?

    Nice seats by the way!

I used 1 inch PVC , cut a slot in it and pushed it over the square metal, it was a very tight ift so its not going anywhere . Then just rage to fill in the bevel

Great idea Herb! Looks great. I might have to use that idea. I also wanted to get some SS angle and weld all the SS bed pieces together. But they now come glued to fiberglass sides! Not sure if feasible now without tearing everything up trying to get the sides off.

Looks really good. I am thinking of making my tailgate fixed as well. Really not needed to go up and down. Some dumb *** will sit something heavy on it if it is down, like me probably not thinking.

Herb what trans did you use with your SBC? I have a 4L60E which I completed installing and put in floor over the weekend. After mocking up trans tunnel looks like I will need to modify the right side of tunnel to fit over the rear corner of pan. Did you run into this?
