Really liking the build Herb. Honestly did not like the look of the truck when I first saw FF was creating one but have seen their completed one in the beautiful blue and it’s really nice. Totally changed my mind and can’t wait to see more trucks built and know yours will be a beauty!

Here's a pic of my door panel
its only in the rough state , lots of work to go
trying to keep in line with the dash
it will of course be covered in same leather and chestnut burl
window up and down switch will go in the door handle towards the upper front
And the round hole will be filled with a speaker
But have a look anyway .
    Herb

Also put a little more bling on the engine, copper lines for fuel , overflow and heating lines

    Herb-

Everything is looking really nice. I admire your craftsmanship! You know, as nicely as the door card is turning out, you might consider selling something like that! HA...

You do nice work, and I am enjoying following your progress!

    Regards,

    Steve

    Herb,

I want to ask about you about those copper fuel lines. Are you concerned about metal fatigue? Won't the vibrations from the engine running loosen the fittings, if not the lines themselves?

hi Dave fuel line no because it is hard plumbed on both ends and I used K copper which is VERY flexible and strong, there are compression fitting should also be fine . the heater lines should be OK for the same reason and where there pass through the firewall I have installed rubber grommets. BUT I plan on keeping an eye on them, thanks for your concerns, Herb
OK well now lets get to the good parts. how do you like my Door Panels ??

Yes I did decide to move them ,I thought the pulls ( doo Handles ) looked out of place the other way . And I like the clean look od the panels, I plan on putting the switches in or on the center console > I love the clean look of the panels and dahs So I will most likely put all or most of the switches in the center console out of sight

Herb that interior is absolutely stunning! I have not posted anything for a while now but I had to complement you on your build. My daughter just graduated from college so I've decided to start scrounging up my parts for a truck build as well. I've got a '98 silverado that will be giving up the engine and trasmission so mine will be a Chevy powered hotrod as well. My son just started college so it may be a year or two before I can order the kit but by then they will have all the bugs and kinks worked out. I had already planned on engine turning the firewall, as this was common way back in the day, and also on the dash and door panels. I'll be watching this build and can't wait to see how it comes out!
