We're Loaded Up!!
Just received confirmation from Jolene at Stewart that my kit is being loaded up today and will deliver next Tuesday or Wednesday! So, all in all, kit was done on 6/16 and will be delivered roughly a month after. Not too bad with everything factored in. Pics to follow!
Thanks again to everyone for the prep advice and build threads. I'm ready for action!

Thank you very much my good man for pushing Stewart. I need to clean out the rest of the garage and come up with some money for the freight. This will be a good week/end!

I drove from WI to pick up my kit. I then took the drive a second time while on vacation. The first trip was a 3 day blur. 2200 miles, 36 hours of driving. On the second trip, we took our time. There is so much to see and do. Amish country in IN; The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; Wine country in Geneva OH; Niagra Falls, the Baseball Hall of Fame; Trillium Brewery; Tree top Brewery; Fenway; and Cape Cod. We did get in most of this list. Missed a few things. I took the plan tour the first time on a Sat. I was still recovering from an 18 hour drive and do not remember much. My wife and I stopped on a Thursday the second time around and took our time. We met Dave Smith and had a mini WI reunion. The atmosphere was much more relaxed and enjoyable.
My point, the drive is so worth it. If you can, make a trip out of it and enjoy it. My wife had a wonderful time. As we were leaving Saturday morning for our trip back to WI, my wife pointed out several Roadsters heading south to the Factory for the cruise that took place a couple weeks ago. We did discuss stopping there before heading back but decided to get an early start with hopes of beating the weekend traffic.

Sounds like you had a great trip Rob. I thought about it doing the same, but one, we just took some vacation time out to Yosemite and Monterrey, so my next trip won't be until September some time. And two, the cost was going to be actually more than for Stewart to bring it. Can you believe that? A one way enclosed U-Haul trailer with gas for 1300 miles was more money. And that's me flying up to MA using my points! And plus, was thinking if Stewart brings it, anything happens, they take the hit, so why not enjoy the white glove service.

It was a good vacation. Monterey by the sea. Nice place. I grew up in CA. Stewart was my first choice but several considerations besides cost lead me to pick up my kit. I rented a 12' open trailer from Uhaul and pulled it both directions. It worked out well. used skid steer tires elevated the kit and made a good cushion. My actual costs to pickup my kit came in right under $900. The quote was $1500. Good luck with your build.

Nice to have warning. I was called and told my kit was on the truck and 7 hours away, they could be there late that night or early next morning. Changed flights and took delivery as the sun was setting last weekend.

Warning is definitely good for planning purposes. Glad you got it worked out and was able to take delivery!
