Updated Coyote Fitment Instructions
All
Just incase you hadn't noticed, FFR has updated their coyote fitment instructions here:

I noticed that the other day. The first version of Gen 2 Coyote instructions were just an update to the Gen 1 instructions, so both were together. It was a bit confusing and incomplete. I briefly looked through the revised Gen 2 instructions. They cover all the usual trouble spots -- tach connection, mounting the PDB, starter and fan wiring, the now standard single clutch switch, etc. The one thing I noticed though is they didn't get the famous CMCV plumbing right. They have the vacuum line hooked to the intake instead of the vacuum port. I, along with others, know this doesn't work and throws DTC's because the CMCV's when commanded don't move without a vacuum source. Other than that, nice improvement.

I'm going to assume you have the latest 2017 Gen 2 Coyote crate. If so, the vacuum line on the RH side of the engine needs to be connected to the vacuum port on the front of the engine by the intake. It's really that simple. This post has the 2017 vacuum diagram with a markup of where the vacuum needs to be connected.

Note that in the Factory Five instructions they show hooking the fuel regulator vacuum reference to the vacuum port by the intake mentioned above. You have two choices: (1) Use a Y connector to attach both, or (2) Not use the vacuum reference on the fuel regulator. Just plug it. Lots of discussion but many, including me, have found the vacuum reference isn't needed. My tuner specifically said not to use it. Also, some are successfully using a GM regulator back by the tank that doesn't even have the option for a vacuum reference.
If you have an earlier version Gen 2 Coyote, there's another connection required, but the above doesn't change.

That's the PCV circuit, just to be clear. Not the CMCV. Yes, it should be connected to the intake as shown.

New line in the parts section: "Ford Performance does not recommend the Corvette fuelfilter/pressure regulator"
Has anyone followed up with Factory Five or Ford yet to determine the source of this comment? I'm reasonably comfortable with my use of this regulator based on a number of successful previous installations by other builders, but would like to hear why.
Mk4 #8861 Complete kit. Delivered: 27 Apr 2016, currently a roller.
Gen-2 Coyote, clutch, TKO600, midshift, and solid axle from Forte. Many pieces from Breeze and Replicarparts.

I would like to know the answer to this as well. The cynic in me thinks it is a ploy to sell more Ford products and not promote GM products.

You might be right about the anti-GM sentiment... But most of us are using Aeromotive regulators when not using the GM one. My guess is the official party line from Ford is in their own instructions: "Fuel pressure regulator must have reference to manifold vacuum." (Page 15) Since the GM regulator doesn't have that capability, that might be why. The rest of the story, which I referenced in an earlier post, is my tuner didn't want the vacuum attached to the regulator. So I've been running without it. So it all may be a moot point.

The emphasis should be on recommend - Ford cannot recommend (endorse) a configuration they have not tested extensively, so they do not reccommend ny configuration that differes from that in their production vehicles. They need to state that so they are not reaponsible if you use an alternate solution, bugger something up, and blow up your motor.

Your point is a valid one for sure. Follow the directions or you could affect how the motor runs or worse yet void the warranty. But the rest doesn't completely apply in this case. Production vehicles with the Coyote use a return-less on-demand fuel system. Voltage to the fuel pump is varied to keep the appropriate pressure at the injectors. For the crate motor, Ford Performance chose to go with a more traditional (and decidedly less complicated) return style system with a constantly running pump and regulator. So while Ford Performance I'm sure has tested this setup extensively, still not the same as a production car. The vacuum reference line in question here is specific to the regulator used for the crate motor return style setup, and isn't in play for production vehicles.
