broke the clutch pedal
I was coming home from a car show today and pushed the clutch in and heard a loud bang, and the clutch pedal went to the floor. I figured I broke the cable but no when I got home I looked in with a flashlight and the top broke off the clutch pedal. how hard is this to get out of a mark 3? looks pretty impossible. has anyone else had this happen?

Yes, it has happen to others and eventually FFR had a fix, then changed the way the cable system worked a bit and changed to different Wilwood pedals that are stronger. Do a search regarding broken clutch pedals.

Is this a Wilwood box? If so your in for an ordeal. pretty labor intensive to fix. Might want to convert to hydraulic while your at it.

I just converted mine to the newer mk4 style clutch quadrant. Much better solution, I'm confident I won't have any clutch pedal issues now - clutch is very smooth and solid, no longer worried about the older cast pedal breaking. I got the parts free from a member who went hydraulic. It was easy for me, I already had my body off and removed the footbox side cover tho, would be pretty difficult to do without doing so.

I would guess this was an older style cast pedal. The new pedals are forged. I have not read of a failure on the new type.

thanks to the people at factory five I am on the road again, they sent me the quadrant repair kit and I ordered the forged pedals from speedway.
