    Another new guy saing hello

Hi, new guy here from northern RI.

I'm probably about a year out from ordering a roadster kit. I have a few chores, like making space in my garage to put a kit, that needs to be accomplished before I can order. But I have managed maybe one of the biggest hurdles, I've got the OK from my wife to buy a kit! I've been mostly into British sports cars, right now my other car is a 1961 Triumph TR3A.

Right now I just starting to do my homework deciding what type of engine, tranny etc that I will need and the best place to source them. I'm planning on ordering a complete MkIV kit. I'll be around asking questions, hopefully there are some other folks in the RI area that will be able to help me out, one of my concerns right now is titling and registering a replica in RI. I've looked at the RI DMV site and it doesn't look too painful.

I ordered the build manual pdf's for both the basic and complete kits to read and get an idea of what goes into building a kit and have been lurking for a while reading other people's build threads. Pretty cool, Dave Smith sent me a nice wall poster of the MkIV roadster to keep me inspired. That goes right up on the wall in my garage.

Welcome - check out Forte's (vendor) for engine and trans options as he's not far from you.
    Later,
