    crank position sensor

Trying to start car, 2002 WRX engine, using Microsquirt V3 and am not getting a rpm signal when I datalog engine parameters when I crank it over.

Subaru manual says +- 7 volts when running but it is a VR sensor so its output varies strongly with crank rpm. I am seeing about 2.5 v peak to peak.

Anybody looked at their crank sensor with scope or know what MS v3 needs??

    Thanks

I had a MS v3 on a Mazda do that to me once. We scopeed it and it showed all kinda of weird behavior, found the wiring bad from the plug and pray mega squirt harness I had bought was: 1. not shield properly or good enough and 2. a pin on the sig wire at the sensor connector was crimp improperly.

Did you add a resistor to the wiring for the crank and cam sensors?

Fixed. Someone, possibly me gg, connected to optio input,
not the VR input although I knew the sensor was VR.
Recoonect to proper pins on MS V3 and
"magic", It works. Not the 1st dumb thing
    I've done on this project.
