    Battery options and questions.

I know they call for the odyssey pc925. I know some have slid in a 1200 into the FFR spot. But, my question is, if I go down to oreillys and get a battery, what stock vehicle battery would fit? Is it like everything else FFR does and a 87-93 mustang battery would fit? Does the 925 have any problem starting the coyote? (I typically like to use parts such as this that I could get locally if needed quickly).

    I went on NAZ's recommendation and bought the PC925 for my 6.2 L LS3.
If your going to mount it under the trunk just in front of the diff make sure the one you get isn't too tall.

Thanks mr Jim. If the 925 can start your LS, it should be able to crank the coyote.

I think I may have found a group 75 size battery that might fit in the FFR area and provide 690 CCA. If I have it measured and figured right, it got plenty side to side and front to back room and 1/4” in top. But it is a side terminal battery so top isn’t as crucial. I’ll also glue a rubber mat to the aluminum back wall to prevent accidental contact with the terminals. I may try it out Friday and will update.

The angles braces in the back, what purpose do they serve? They are proving to be In my way over and over again. Especially now that I am considering mounting my low temp radiator and reservoir for the intercooler back there. I sure could use the space that those eat up.

Not a bad idea at all. But I’ll have a trailer hitch, LTR for intercooler and intercooler reservoir and pump in those areas probably. I’m running out of real estate quickly lol.

Yes the real estate on 33 is limited. I may need to put the ac condenser in back. Engine runs hot with ac on in town.

I made a simple box off the back of the frame that is hinged for easy access. Any size or shape battery will fit there...no issues so far. I'm so glad i didn't put it in the trunk...I seem to need every square inch, especially if my wife is with me!

I like that a lot. I might steal your idea. I’ve been tossing the idea of how to dress up the back panel and keep battery accessible and just can’t find a solution I like. Your solution fixes several problems. Might still cut out and redo that angled brace though to increase clearance mainly on the other side for intercooler stuff. Plus I have the lower brace for 3 link frame to deal with. Maybe I can just let it sit on top of that brace? Wouldn’t be able to swing down but might can still go out to left... now I’m just brainstorming out loud. I’ll get it started with it sitting in passenger seat spot and maybe work on that later. I’ve got a lot to sort out and play with and get just right lol

Where did you put your sensor for coolant temp at?

I think David posted a link to a car on bring a trailer to help inspire people on their builds. I took a look at the photos and the guy did a great job on his build. One thing that I saw and liked was his trunk and battery. Here are the photos that I saved.

With the extra space we have besides the trunk walls I think I might do something like this on my car. That way it is still accessible but not taking as much room.

That is a pretty good place for it.

My g75 size battery expirement didnt work. After talking to a couple guys with pc925’s, I found one locally. Maybe me being flustered about it and excited to make it run, but I back burnered that and did it like FFR says. I may revisit later after I get a few more things mounted and in place back there (intercooler reservoir).

The PC925 spins my engine over like it didn't have any plugs in it. Glad I listened to NAZ.
I need to relocate the battery to the trunk, the FF location is a PITA to get at.

Mine as well, I have located a pair of remote battery terminals in the trunk in case there is a need as well as a local disconnect/cutoff switch in there too for when I leave the car and want a little more piece of mind, not that someone who is determined could take it if they really want to, just making it harder for them.

Thanks, excellent idea. Much easier than moving the battery.

I’m going to add some remote terminals, but unsure where yet. Probably not in the trunk. Maybe under the rear or along the side, accessible without having to open the trunk.

The PC925 cranks the coyote easy peasy.
