    20th Anniv. Roadster finished weight

I’m curious what other builders are finding their finished Roadsters weigh.
(With different engines etc. there is a lot of variance to be sure.)

I just weighed mine and was a bit surprised.

My 20th Anniv. is powered by a 351W and includes a automatic transmission (4R70W by Lentech). Other custom items include a custom ss radiator fan, power steering, foot box cooler blowers with ducting, trunk drop box, battery drop box in trunk, winshield wiper setup, and all bumpers as supplied.

Total weight with a full tank of gas and no occupants comes in at 2,410 pounds.

Where you surprised it was heavier or lighter than you expected?

Mine is 2467 with a Coyote, TKO600, IRS and 3/4 tank fuel. Always heard they were pretty much 2500 pound cars so that is about what I expected.

Yes I did think it was a bit heavy but attributed that to the big fat heavy auto trans and mods to the chassis to shoehorn it in. It’s a smooth ride though and runs like a scalded dog!

I'd expect the the auto trans to bump it up a bit but am a little surprised at Scott's weight. Just as a point of reference my non-anniversary roadster has a fuel injected 5.0 based Windsor with aluminum heads & intake, T5 trans, 8.8 3 link rear, power steering and vacuum assist Mustang brakes, full cockpit insulation along with both interior and trunk carpet, 2 roll bars and Street Performer seats. When we corner weighted it on Wayne Presley's scales it totaled 2,180 pounds full of gas. Don't know how a Coyote compares weight wise to a Windsor so maybe that explains some of the extra beef.

Yeah a bit higher than what I expected.
I used very light weight ceramic oven insulation in the foot boxes and carpet only in the cockpit.

I’m very happy with the effectiveness of the insulation. Its 95 deg. here today and no problem with hot spots in the cockpit.

Mine was 2469 when I corner weighed it. Nobody in it and as I recall about 3/4 tank of gas. Very close to what others are reporting. Coyote + TKO + 2015 IRS with iron diff + insulation + lots of options and mods. I thought it was a bit of a porker. But goes just fine.

My “Shake down” phase is about complete so before long I’ll be enquiring about 0-60 times. Anyone want to share their results?

Although not a 20th Anniversary, my MK4 with old style IRS, tilt front, full front and rear bumpers, Herb's door panels, Coyote, TKO600, PS, AC and Heat, Lizard skin and trunk carpet pulse a few more mods came in at 2430 without roll bars.

I did it once early on with what I would call a soft launch and shifted early and did a 4.02 according to the GPS speedo. I wanted to go easy on the clutch on getaway and got a little loose on the 1-2 shift that was about 5-600rpm below redline.
I think a max performance effort would be in the 3.6 range but that is just a guess. Haven't tried it again since.
