    New IRS Center section problem

Mile 4 on go carting I’m hearing a metal rubbing noise from the rear. I put it up on jack stands and rotated the wheels. DS turns freely, PS side feel something rubbing. Pulled the wheels and no sign of rubbing. Bypassed clutch safety switch and fired it up in 4th gear. Hearing a lot of noise coming from center section. Unless someone has a suggestion it looks like I’m pulling the center and half of my suspension. Great timing also. Shoulder surgery 5 days and body ready at paint shop in 3 weeks. Should I talk to FFR first?

Sorry to hear that. Those things are supposed to be pretty stout. I'm assuming since you're asking about calling Factory Five you bought it from them with your kit? One of the NIB ones from Ford Performance? Yes, I'd probably call them before taking anything apart. I'm suspecting any warranty claim would be through Ford, but don't know if it's timed out yet. Positive nothing else is hitting or rubbing? Not the CV joints? If you're convinced it's the center section, I'd probably pull the back cover and take a peak before tearing everything apart. At the very least, truly confirm that's where the noise is coming from. But I'd still call first.

As far as I can tell the sound is coming from the center. I know it’s a little risky running the engine in gear however I have 4 jack stands and two jacks supporting it. Idling the engine in 4th gear I can find nothing else rubbing. It tough to hear above the exhaust but it is coming from the center. Checked and fluid level is good and with recommended fluids.
