    Nissan master cylinder

    What year and model of Nissan uses the 7/8 inch master cyl. that everyone is suggesting as a good replacement for the WRX cylinder? Mine is 1 1/16 inch. Also, anyone know how much lower my pedal will drop with the smaller diameter cylinder? I am wondering if it will be more difficult to heel/toe down shift with a lower pedal.

    Forget changing the master cylinder and just raise the hole more. It will help your pedal ratio and get you the softer pedal you want and keep the large volume your master cylinder can produce. The hole issue with pedal being to stiff is pedal ratio not master cylinder size. The smaller master cylinders aren’t meant to handle four calipers that is why you need the extra volume from your larger one. Hope this helps, I love the pedal once I raised the hole.

    Also, how much to raise the hole, and, will it change the angle of the shaft to the MC?

    I just doubled what Factory Five already had you drilling. Could make several holes and see which one you like best.
    On my car it actually made the shaft angle better.

    Another idea: how about lengthening the pedal shaft to get more leverage?

    A longer shaft won't give you more leverage, just move the pedal position. Moving the hole for the shaft changes the fulcrum, THAT is where you gain or lose leverage.
