    ID these modules

What are these modules? One attaches to the bottom of the steering column and has a frequency. 2007 WRX

    (1) keyless entry module - controls door locks, I deleted this one (2) not sure, alarm? immobilizer?, (3) integrated unit module - controls interior lighting, I deleted this one too.

    Unhappy

The second one is the immobilizer.

The only thing the integrated unit module does is interior lighting? So we don't need it, or any of its wiring?
Asking for a friend . . . (who may or may not have damaged it)

Correct, you do not need the integrated unit module. If you have a wrx cluster, you'll need to run a power wire from somewhere (fused headlight power?) because it provides power for cluster illumination. Unless you have an sti cluster, which is illuminated by default.

Another good way to ID parts is to just google the numbers on the item.
