Anchoring location for shoulder belt advice please

I have seen several builds with the shoulder belts being anchored to the rollbars over the body instead of down on the chassis as outlined in the manual. This modification appeals to me but I have a buddy who used to race professionally and questioned whether that would keep me safe if I wound up upside down. My thought is that the lap/thigh belts would keep me in the car in that situation. Does anybody have thoughts on this?

    Thanks,

    Mark

The shoulder belts should be mounted same height as shoulders or up to 20 degrees down from shoulders.

So depending on seat style and torso length it may be better for some to mount them to a tube on the roll bar.
Also, please everyone look at page 18 in the link above for correct belt to eye routing.
