    Thanks Gentlemen,

Now that the body is off I've got a few items that I need to address which are shown below:

    1. Cleaning the entire car from stem to stern because it's 100% dusty mess.
    2. Installing the Kilmat and upgraded 20 oz. marine carpeting.
    ... https://www.boatcarpetbuys.com/colle...ss-boat-carpet
    3. Installing new steering bellows and adjusting the rack forward so that the bellows better clear the frame.
    4. Re-Leveling the car to get it to 4.0" (f) and 4.5" (r) ride height.
    5. Getting a proper professional alignment.
    6. Adding the horn.

All are easy items, but I won't get to them until the weekend.

    Steve

NOTE: Stay Safe Gents, Especially You Dr. Mark!

That's why I brought in some Real Deal Professional Help because this part of the build was way over my head.
Ernie opened Dependable Paint & Body in 1979 after serving four years in the Army and been painting ever since.
Though his shop is small, he is well known in my home town.

NOTE:...Ernie has been painting professionally all the way back to when was a he was a kid in high school when learned to paint at Simplex Motorcycles.
.............He worked a 40 hour schedule after school until late in the evenings to earn his lot in life.

Just got back from checking out my body and man does it look great.
The car is now wearing it's 1st coat of gray primer after being sealed with black epoxy binder.
The blocking will start next week after a few days of curing before the next shot or two of primer get applied.
Man I'm happy that I asked Ernie and Sammy to tackle this part of the build because not way in hell could I have done better.

    1. Went my this afternoon to see the blocked, touched up and retrace coated body.
    2. Worked on changing a Rack Bellow and adjust the rack 1/8" forward to give a little more bellow boot clearance.
    3. Buttoned up some wiring adjustments and added additional grounds at each corner of the car for the lights.
    4. Tomorrow the car will be pulled out and properly cleaned and dried.
    5. Sunday we'll be working on installing the KILMAT & CARPET.

    Meeeeee Toooooo!

I'll probably get the body back on the car in about 10-12 days.
It looked good in black epoxy binder and even better in gray feather fill, but until it is done it is just like waiting for Christmas to come.
I do feel that it will be Picture of the Month (P.O.M.) worthy since my pals at Dependable Paint & Body are handling this final phase of my build.

Do you want to align it without the body on? I thought you needed full vehicle weight to get a proper alignment. I could be wrong.

I've got three 60 pound play sand that I picked up from Home Depot to mimic load.

Also, as long as we keep the ride height the same I should be okay.

    Thanks Sir Ducky, Thanks!

You just need to set the final ride height and then align. When you add weight simply adjust the springs to bring it back to that height and the alignment will return to exactly the same.

That has some bluish overtones in it, you know my feelings there. There are some different greens that I like, lighter in tone.

For the record my first color choice was GREEN; however, my better half loves RED!

Hope to shoot a video between, possibly during the spray out.

    Baby Go-Dad loves RED too.

Just to be clear, any color that the owner wants is fine with me. I have certain colors preferred over others, but I think I've only seen a couple that "should've" been repainted. None of mine have been painted a traditional cobra color.

    Thanks Al,

I just got back from the alignment and paint shops.

I was really close on my Eye-Ball / Sheet Rock Square / Level / Angle Finder Method so he, Mr. Buck, was done in 15 minutes...Next I went over to Ernie's (Dependable Paint & Body) to view the back of hood, trunk & doors to okay the color...Then I took a 70-Plus Go Kart Ride and the car tracked straight and felt good.

In summary the car felt controllable and stable so my next tasks is to install the horn, foot box ventilation forward tubes, e-brake and shifter boots then wait for the paint to be perfected.

Nice video, and great progress. Not a whole lot more exciting than seeing the finished body go on the finished chassis. Thanks for the shout out in the video from me as well. Happy to help if I can. I'm just the one with the opinions. You're the one doing all the heavy lifting.

I finished up the interior this weekend and I surprised myself to say the least once I installed the top of the Transmission Tunnel.

No, it is not up to the level of Sir Edwardb (Paul Borror); however, it looks quite good, rather refined with an elegant flair.

I'll post a video and a new album after we get the body back from paint and it has been properly reassembled.

The link below is Our Youtube Channel in case anybody wants to poke around our build journey.

We moved the car to my brothers home in anticipation of the storm.
He's about 30 miles away and about 30 feet higher than we are.
