I don't know anything about the818 rally car.

But FFR is working on a front engine super car called the GTF.

The GTF looks interesting. The mock-up chassis looks to be a Challenge car.

That can't be the FF GTF frame..unless they are planning on an open top R version. It would be pretty difficult to get in it as a tin top.

I agree, I don't think they have a mock up frame yet for the GTF. I thought I remember someone saying that they would start with the Type 65 frame and stretch and widen it to fit the GTF.

If that happens it would be stellar. The Stratos is a beautiful car!

Yeah, I'd sign up for a Day 1 build. I've always thought a Stratos body on the 818 frame would be a cool project

If you somehow flipped the front radiator frame on the 818 you might be surprisingly close to making that feasible. Other than glass of course.

As far as the GTF - The barge boards are a bit much for me, but I can see how some would find that attractive. I'm more concerned with the design of that chassis. Obviously it's a work in progress and they've been using it for a while with a waiver from NASA but at some point factory five needs to realize that they're unnecessarily risking life and limb with these low-rate designs. I thought the 818 was bad but the number of open tubes and non-nodal intersections on that is terrifying. The entire main hoop isn't triangulated, let alone planer with itself.

If you can’t wait for FFR to build one here’s a company in the U.K. that makes them.

They would need to fix the frame to make it race worthy. Bends in wrong places. Must be just mock up.
    Thanks- Chad

I agree, that can't be the frame for the body of the model shown..The roof bar looks to high, and to wide, the body of the car is shorter behind the wheels then the frame. Doesn't make sense..

    Nice motor...

Sources at HB revealed that the wheelbase is stretched from the coupe. Also, I'd wager these are fairly early body design shots. The body seems to be missing details like panel gaps, doors...

Here is a view with the frame.

Dave said he is not happy with the front and it is still being tweaked / redesigned.
