Wiper Motor Location - Look Good?

Installing my wiper motor this afternoon. Instructions are a little vague, as it just says to make sure that the cable has a 'natural arc' and from the instructions, looks like the wiper boxes connect to the cable mid-center of the firewall and the driver's side of the car. Picture in the manual also shows the motor mounted a little lower towards the top of the footbox, which is where I have it, but others I've seen center it.

Does this look right for the correct assembly to the wiper boxes and 'natural arc'?

That looks good to me, not that I have any real experience with the finished product. Based on all the installs I've see, I think you should be fine with your location.

There is a lot of flexibility... You are not putting in a heater so you should be good... Here is mine, with the heater....

I tucked mine up a little closer to the 3/4" frame, and pointed the start of the natural arc so that it is parallel to the curve of the firewall. But as you can see, I had a heater to contend with. What you can't see, at least in this picture, is that I've also moved my firewall about 2" forward. Bottom line is that the motor is pretty forgiving of its position.

One thing I didn't do but wish I had is use riv nuts on the firewall. That way if I ever have to change the motor I don't have to get a helper for the nuts behind the dash.

I agree with Phileas,go a little higher if you can.

Just a couple tips about the wipers on these cars:
    1. Close up the far end of the tube to keep dirt out. I crimped mine.
    2. Unless it has changed, you don't get a connector (see Phileas' picture). Twice now when rain was torrential, my wipers parked straight up and down. I think it is from just having the spade lugs pushed in there like the instructions say. I just ordered a connector from Moss Motors. I hope that fixes it.
    3. Don't EVER lose your sense of humor.

I just got back from a DSCC rally. Three of us got together to travel down to it. We hit HEAVY rain for about two hours. Water over the curbs rain. One didn't have wipers, another (Not an FFR) wiper arm came off, mine parked straight up. Three Cobras, no functioning wipers. LOL
