    Road-Legal Challenge Car

    Gents,

I'm in the process of figuring out which FFR Cobra to build and have been leaning towards the Challenge Car, but want to ensure I can make the build street legal. Is this car available for order with the full windshield (similar to the MKIV)? Also, can it support the 5.0 Coyote?

    Thanks!

    James,

Factory Five Racing will do what they can to accommodate you.
Also, Garry Bopp drives his on the streets as did John George when he was racing.
Call that gang and get your car while the current sale is still on.
Good Luck From The Dark Dart Side!

    James,

I'm building a Challenge Car. The basic plan is a streetable track car. I'll have a standard windshield and possibly a cut down one and wipers.

I'm in Michigan and don't expect any issues as long as the car has the required lights, wipers and an exhaust system. Michigan is pretty lax about most things as long as they get their money. A friend in Indiana has a Challenge Car for the street, it's not much different than any other roadster except for the full width bar and side bars, you still have to step over the non-functioning doors.

I think Factory Five has a street completion kit specifically for Challenge Cars. Might want to ask when you order. No problems with the Coyote, the basic chassis is the MKIV with additional tubing. The engine compartment on the CC is the same, the trans tunnel doesn't have the framing around the trans so this is actually easier with more room to work and the trans will come out through the interior.

Welcome to the party, hope all goes well. PM for more.

    Jim
