Hello everyone, I joined the forum today because I plan on building a MK4 with my son. Lots of things to think about and plan for even before ordering the car. ItÂ’s almost to daunting. But I was wondering if there were other owners in the DFW area to look at their cars to get ideas and hear about their builds. I am getting excited about doing this project and already preparing my garage to do this.

I'm sure you'll meet someone from the DFW area pretty quickly.

Have you checked out the local Cobra Club yet? I believe they try to meet once a month on a Saturday morning. Check out this site to see where they are meeting up next.

Also, the Texas Cobra Meet is coming up soon and it is an amazing place to check out the cars and meet some folks.

I have not made one of the local events yet, but I did go to San Marcos event at the beginning of my build and it was very helpful (and fun).

I'm on the other side of DFW in Parker (north of Dallas). I would be more than happy to let you check out my build and answer your questions as best that I can.
I may even have a Body Buck that you can have if you're interested.

Just PM me if you are.

It is a daunting task. When people ask me, "How did you build a whole car?" I say, "Start by bolting two parts together. Do that 10,000 times, and you have a car!"

Good to see another PA-C here, too.

Thanks Richard. My 27 y/o son and myself are planning to go to that meet. I have stayed at that hotel before and know it well. Hope to see you there.
