swapped tranny= No speedo gear, CEL, no Cruise, Fans on blast!...............ARrggggh

So I realized really late what I had missed when replacing my trans that had a blown Pinion. Now I have this issue. I have to erase the VSS code and cycle the key every time till the next drive cycle It happens again. My options.........

-Open it up again and see if the VSS driven gear is actually there to mate with the plastic sender gear
-convert speedo to GPS but I might still have a CEL and Fan issue.
-Dakota Digital speedo Interface............ THis seems like the smartest solution for $80.

Anyone have experience with the DD interface? I have all the ABS sensors attatched and working.

when my 04 5mt failed I found a good deal on a 2012 5mt the doesn't that the VSS hole in the transmission bored out.
On my front left hub I cut 5 teeth in to the CV joint bearing cup. Then used a $20 industrial prox sensor wired to the VSS signal. Dash speedometer and ECU work perfect.
Let me know if you want more information.

I got this fancy hub block off that has ABS ring attatced to it. But if all I need is a axle stub to chop up

So what year is your ECU and cluster? Mine is '06
Maybe some help choosing the sensor would be much appreciated

    Hey Mac1
Here is the sensor I used:
    Part # EZ-M12-MPNNO-NMW
    https://store.ezautomation.net/produ...-npnno-nmw.htm

Here is how it is wired. Top is new prox, bottom is the original gear driven part.

My ecu and cluster are out of 04FXT. Anything 02-07 impreza or forester should be the same.

I ended up fixing my speedo with this device.
Only starts to work at 20mph but cured my issue completely.
