MK4 SBF Engine and Trans Mount Torque Values Needed

    Hi Fellas,

Trying for engine install this weekend, Blueprint 347/TKX. Having a hard time finding solid torque value info for the mounts. Manual has nothing, just says to tighten all hardware. No torque info packed in mount boxes. Forum search has yielded widely varied numbers. What are good torque values to use mount to engine/trans and chassis to mount?

    Many thanks!

Where torque values aren't specified, there's a chart in the manual that gives torque values based on bolt sizes. That's a good reference. Depending on your experience, you'll find you get a pretty good feel for how tight things should be when a torque value isn't specifically given. My personal practice is I have different length handles (1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" drive plus a couple longer 1/2" ones) that I use based on the bolt size and each gets my standard "good and tight" pull. When compared to a known torque value, has worked out reasonably well.

I also struggled finding this info. I think I ended up using fox body mustang specs, which was 45-60 ft-lbs. Take Paul's advice....always.
