Sounds great Eddie! Another 289 comes to life. Liked watching your neighbor, first start always draws a crowd. When I did mine, Mike Forte was over to help and get the tune right. With my stock pipes, my ears were bleeding at around 4000. Bob Boig fixed that. I like the sound of the under car exhaust. Would be interested to see some db numbers.

The pipes do not go straight back. Theu actually go through a muffler under the car and exit in front of the rear wheels. I was thinking about having them exit in the rear but i wasnt willing to add that complexity.

Your build is coming along well and looking real good.

Being born and raised and still work in SF i used to ask “where the fxxx is Lodi”. Now that i live near the town i really like it. The A&W car show, the trains, the restauants, the street fairs, amd th laid back atmoshere really is appealing to me. I even shop at the Costco there as thh closer one to me in South Sac is always way too crowded. Do you still have family there?

I left Lodi in 1983 when I went into the Army. It's changed a lot since then. I get back there every few years to visit family, but most of my family have moved away as well. An interesting piece of trivia for CCR fans. There are numerous towns across the country with the name Lodi, but the CCR song, Stuck in Lodi was written about the one in California, which is near Fogerty's home town of Berkeley. Although popular lore claims that the band wrote the song after being stranded there, they never actually visited the town until after the song was written.

Thats a fun little video. The 1000 mile California Mille Miglia spends the night in one of the winery resorts in Lodi after their first leg of the trip from San Francisco. It is pretty cool to see a bunch of vintage multi-million dollar vehicles actually driven. You could always see at least one AC Bristol at the event. Here is a video of the cars leaving the starting line at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco.
