I'd like to try to make it work without buying any more extras (aka Lokar cables, kootenai aluminum footbox, ect)?

Also, it seems like the whole throttle cable is waaay too long. I have a holley carb. I take it that you are supposed to snip the ends off the throttle cable and use the factory 5 supplied ball end pieces? I went ahead and did it (1st picture). What is the little supplied spring for (second picture)?

Just in case you were not aware you can change the angle of the Lokar pedal by disassembling the center pivot bold and re-clocking the two arms to your desired angle to give you full throw. This adjustment in combination with the different mounting holes for the cable in both the pedal and the carb should let you dial in the set up. http://www.lokar.com/assets/instruct...structions.pdf Good Luck. ps Lokar also sell spacers to let you move the pedal farther off the floor if you wish. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Lokar...QaAoIuEALw_wcB.
