    Cool Fastener re-use question

    Good morning all!

I'm in the process of building my MK4 and have the entire front end completed with donor parts but then broke down and bought the MK4 spindle kit instead.

    My question:

Can I reuse all the fasteners or since they've been torqued once, do I have to replace all the nuts and bolts that I remove / replace? I understand maybe the nylock nuts but what is the general rule here?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

My understanding is that you only need to replace torque to yield bolts once used. The stuff on the suspension can be reused without any problems. Nylock nuts start to lose their effectiveness after multiple uses, so they may need to be replaced.

Don't know if the axle nut is the same for donor and spindle, but I would not re-use those. Don't cost much, very important fastener.
