Factory Five’s Shine at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale!

Three of the five Factory Fives that were up for auction this year at the 2019 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction have crossed the auction block, and brought good money. Overall, prices this year are strong, and the collector car market continues to be a good place to invest your money (even better if you build a Factory Five!). Here’s a run down of the first three.

Lot 782: Type 65 Coupe sold for $77,000. This car was built in four days at SEMA 2018. Powered by Ford’s 5.0L Coyote engine, TKO600 5-speed manual transmission with Wilwood brakes, 18” wheels and a 3-link rear suspension.

Lot 814: GTM Supercar sold for $84,700. This beautiful white GTM Gen II was completed in 2017 and shown in Huntington Beach, where it won Best in Show and was featured in Reincarnation magazine. Many custom features were added to the build, including front fender gills, rear body vents, louvered hatch, roof air intake, shaved doors and custom paint by VRaptor Speedworks. A large-screen receiver with Apple car play was added as well. It’s equipped with Genesis shocks and coilovers, front hydraulic lift system, Infinity Wire wiring system with front- and rear-mounted power cells, harness bar with 4-point seat harnesses, LED taillights, Armstrong Race Engineering dry-sump system, remote filter assembly and Kooks exhaust. Powered by a stock 7.0-liter LS7 engine mated to a Porsche G96-50 6-speed manual transmission.

Lot 850.1 – GTM Supercar sold for $88,000. Powered by a 7.0-liter LS7 Corvette engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and is equipped with air conditioning, backup camera, power steering and power brakes. This GTM was built in 2015 and has 180 actual miles.

Two cars remain to be auctioned as of Friday afternoon, an orange 427-powered Factory Five Roadster and the Special Edition Factory Five Barrett-Jackson ’35 Hot Rod Truck serial #001. Both are scheduled to be auctioned on Sunday afternoon.

Wow, nice money. Congrats to all! Pretty sure Ron's type 65 was painted at the shop that did mine.

If I thought I could get close to that, I'd send my 289 to Barrett Jackson at Mohegan....

On which two sales? $26K sound like way to big of a percentage for any car sales. What is that... 20 to 25% of the sale price?

Combined for the Coupe and Hot Rod. BJ takes 20% of the hammer price on every sale; 10% from the buyer and 10% from the seller.
