    Simpson Lap Belt Attachment Tabs--Help!

The two tabs that come up through the floor that are the connections for the lap belts are too close to the transmission tunnel for me to get the nyloc nut on the bolt. Do I need to bend the tabs away from the transmission tunnel? Is there a better or more elegant way to do this? Am I missing something? Thanks. Joel

One solution would be to take some metal off the back of the nut. Do not get it hot enough to melt the locking material.

Drill through the tunnel aluminum and bolt through the lap belt, chassis tab and aluminum...just like it says in the manual
