Starter motor mounting bolt torque specs
I have a 347 DART with the Ford starter motor shown. I am mounting to a Quicktime bell housing. It came with no instructions and the mounting bolts shown are M6-1.25 which don't fit in the Quicktime. It accepts 3/8" bolts. I have in my notes that it is 15-24 ft-lb of torque but can no longer verify my source.
Does anybody know what the torque on the mounting bolts should be?
Thanks,
Mark

Standard torque for 3/8 X 24 (thread count) bolts into aluminum is 212 in lbs dry or 17.5 ft lbs so your notes look pretty good.

Anyone know the length? My Powermaster starter came with no hardware.

Measure the thickness of the mounting ear on the starter and add the thickness of the block plate and bell housing. The total is the required length of the bolt. The threads of the bolt should not protrude out the back of the bell housing.
