FF 2” Roll Bars on an MKIV?

Anyone used 2” FF roll bars on an MKIV? I recently saw a post on one of the Facebook sites stating such. Curious what modifications are necessary.

You just need to make some intermediate sleeves to go in-between the roll bar stubs and the roll bar. One of our customers likes the look of the 2" bar and is putting one on his MK4.

I did it on a MK 4, opened up body holes and massaged the frame tubes so the 2" roll bar tubes went over instead of inside the tubes like the 1.5"

Only the very, very early Mk4s had the larger diameter stubs that made this possible. Now the 1.5" bar slides over the chassis stubs so to use the 2" bar requires intermediate sleeves as Frank mentioned.

I make the stumps for the 2 inch roll bar. I could be persuaded to run a batch if enough people were interested.

Mike - I’m very interested in two sets of stubs! I have a kit in order (completion next week) and am torn on rollbars. If I knew I could get the stubs I would probably have the 1.5” traded for the 2” rollbars. I also sent you a PM.
