    Oil Pressure sensor location.

Hello, I have tried Googling this but not finding what I am looking for. There are two ports near my oil filter on this chevy 350 engine. The top port is open and the bottom one is plugged. All the pictures I am finding show the sensor going in the bottom port. I can remove the plug and put the sensor there bit am curious what goes in the upper port if I do. Can anyone tell me the function of the two ports? Do they do the same thing?

    Thank you for your help.

I always use the 1/8" NPT port behind the China wall near the distributor -- that's what it's for. If you're going to use a port closer to the pump don't forget to plug this one or you'll have a gusher.

I always use the "china wall" port also. BUT I notice on my new L31 block there is a 1/8" tapped hole above the oil filter. Never knew of a port there or ever saw one there,,, but its there. I assume I'll have a "gusher" if I don't plug it.......

Hanging With The Naz Man With The Port On Top The China Wall!

......Also, I'm pretty sure the larger hole is for The Clutch Z-Bar mount.
