Neither am I, mr Wayne. I’ve not found anyone who completely redesigned it. Mr Dan Ruth made some small changes but the functionality is still the same. When i get to that point, later this spring maybe, I’m going to be taking a hard look at how to completely change the way they work. Initial thought is instead of up and forward then up in the back, maybe straight up higher than stock then up in the back with a different type of hold down in the rear. Please update here if you find or come up with anything.

I understand that Tim Whittaker is working on a new hood latching mechanism. Don't know if he is also changing the hinge design in the process, but that seems possible. You might check with him for a status report.

I am planning on just not using the hinges in the front and having some hidden cables as secondary retention. I want to be able to run without the hood when I feel like it and don't want to have to undo bolts, we will see how stable it is with the single latch in the front.

I talked to Jim on Friday and the truck hinges and rear latch will retrofit onto the 33 easily so that is the route I'm taking.

Im going see what those look like now. Thanks Wayne.

    *edit*
I'm wallace18's truck build thread, he has pics of the latch and hinges. And yes, that's exactly along the lines of what I was thinking of wanting mine to do. Ffr may have already done the work.
