I just went out and looked at mine, they are ok. I was going to offer to swap if I had the same problem.

Thanks, Carl. I appreciate that. I sent an e-mail to FFR with a picture and asked that they send a replacement to match the one that has the long side of the diamonds running top to bottom. I expect they will have one on the way tomorrow.

Looks like your "Quality Control" process was better than the guy who put the raw material in the press! What a mesh he made of it!

    Here's another option:

BTW all these grates tend to rust so a shot of clear is a good idea.

The FFR ones like Papa Dave has are aluminum so rust is not an issue.

Dave (papa), it would be a good conversation piece of your “unique” build. I think it would be fun to see how many people would actually catch it.

Dave (Hodgkins), that’s really cool looking honeycomb... where did you find that?

    Hi Kurt,

I got mine from a local So-Cal dealer called Industrial Metal Supply:
    https://www.industrialmetalsupply.co...pss223624025hx

PS they also have a great deal on NOMEX, which you can use on top of your radiator. I painted mine black before installing it:

Sitting in the car or looking at it from the front?
    So many variables.....

And thanks Dave! And it looks like you engined turned that radiator cowl???? I must have missed that (or forgot, I’m old) in your refresh thread.
NOMEX? Radiator? Like in front of it? Doesn’t restrict airflow?

    Kurt

P.S. I found the NOMEX and radiator shroud on your thread Dave

The dirt track guys swear by it - saving radiators from mud / rocks / etc.

I'm using it too - pretty much requires a fan shroud in hot weather / hard running to move enough air.

To be clear, I was doing Ok on water temp autocrossing running the FFR supplied fan mounted to the back of a Summit radiator.

First autocross with the honeycomb - the stone guard had to come back off - climbing water temp.

Ok for years (with honeycomb) after adding a Summit fan shroud to the FFR supplied fan.

If you decide to use the Nomex don't forget to order the mounting kit, a simple way to attach the Nomex to your radiator.

I got an e-mail from Dave C. at FFR and he personally made a new set for me and they are on the way. Another example of FFR's great customer support.

It depends on the front end alignment.
