    Little Victories

Well, after six years, three months, and five days, (but who's counting), the engine is finally in the car!

My niece's husband came up to give me a hand, and a good friend came over to help as well. We took our time and in about 45 minutes to an hour, VOILA!

My great nephew helped as well. He kept the drivers seat warm.

We were going to do this yesterday, but the rain was so bad I told them to not drive up till today. I had everything ready, and it was killing me to have to leave it all set up in the garage overnight.

So now it's on to more, even more complicated wiring then before. Yeah!

Thanks Gordon. It's all your handiwork, except the valve covers. It is probably the proudest I've felt about the build since I started.

I think I had that contest won, but he was so jazzed to be sitting in the drivers seat, it made me smile even bigger!

    Looks really nice!

Note: maybe that is not the permanent mounting location and/or you already know, if so, disregard.
That reservoir on the drivers side will not be accessible at all once the body is on, it will be fully covered. You may want to consider a remote location for it.

BB767, Thanks for the compliment. As far as the brake fluid reservoir is concerned, I've had the body on before, and while it's not right out in the open, it is easily accessible.

    RickP, Thanks.

    Dave, Really appreciate it.

    Thanks for the comments guys.
Yama-Bro, I got them through Champ Pans. I contacted them directly and got each cover with a filler tube. I added a short piece at a slight angle, drilled for the placement of the PCV valve, tacked a slash diverter under that, sanded, painted, and got the decals from Cobra Restorers. I had done a set of regular stamped covers awhile back, but I was concerned that the 1/2" valve cover spacer was not going to add enough to clear the rockers, so I found these, which are about 3/4 to 1" taller and I feel much better!
