Coyote in a 33, CMCV question

FFR's newest instructions for the Coyote in a 33 say
"Remove the CMCV actuators and block off the vacuum feeds."
"When standing in front of the engine, the left side CMCV shaft needs to be rotated clockwise and locked in place."
"When standing in front of the engine, the right side CMCV shaft needs to be rotated counterclockwise and locked in position."

My question is after taking off all the CMCV stuff, how do you lock in position? I left the bars in an tie wrapped the ball mount to the intake. Any other ideas?

Only 1 vacuum feed needs to be blocked, right?

    Thank you,

    Henry

Hey Henry. Most of the Mustang tuner sites have CMCV lockout parts for Coyotes. Pretty simple and not too expensive. They are different depending on which vintage you have. These are for the Gen 2. The is one source and also has some pictures that may be useful. http://www.modularmotorsportsracing....roducts_id=896. Assume you know they also need to be locked out in the tune or you'll get DTC's.

I haven't done it, so don't know exactly what vacuum ports are left once you remove the actuators. That port on the back of the intake is for the vacuum source from the front of the engine. Wouldn't hurt to cover it, but also wouldn't matter if it were left open. Not sure what else they want you to.

    CMCV lockouts

20190217_123719.jpg Here is what the CMCV lockouts look like on a 2018 intake manifold. The parts for a 2017 intake are similar, but not the same dimensions.

The thing that confuses me is that the lockouts only allow the arms to be locked in one orientation, and that is different from what I understand the instructions to say...? The passenger side arm is locked clockwise when looking at it from the back of the engine, not looking from the front. The lockouts only fit one way, so am I just reading the instructions wrong? I can't imagine that MMR made a mistake?

I just zip tied them closed. Their position at rest before you removed the actuators is wide open and where you want to lock them. I’d have to look at mine. I would have used the bars except my intake will be coming off to install the supercharger so I didn’t spend the money.

Sorry for tagging onto this post but.....What about pre-2015 coyote engines? My 2014 does not appear to have any of that hardware.
    Thanks

Ford added the CMCV function to the Gen 2 Coyotes starting in 2015. Your Gen 1 2014 Coyote doesn't have it. Therefore no vacuum motors on the back of the intake.
