    Chrome Grill Cost

Trying to get an idea of the cost for getting Grill Chrome plated. Also considering the Window Frame.

I remember reading a post maybe a year ago (don't remember who) that said they were quoted around $1000 to get it chromed. Seems pretty high.
I've had a lot of motorcycle engine parts chromed in the past that weren't that expensive.

IIRC, some of the earlier builders had problems with the grills having a lot of porosity that blew holes in the plating. It took a lot of work to fill in the pores and get a nice finish. No idea if FFR has fixed that issue, but it's something to watch out for if you decide to go this route. Did you have that problem Bill?

My grill looks great and no signs of porosity.

I dropped mine off today in Ft. Worth. The price is $900.00 and 2-weeks lead time. He also told me he could do the Window Frame for $400.00. I will post some photos when I get it back.

I had mine chromed at Dan's Polishing and Chrome in Adamsville, Tennessee. The cost was $300 and it is beautiful. I couldn't ask for a better job.

I'm sorry, I knew that didn't sound right so I went back and checked my records and am editing this post. The quote for polishing the grill was $300,
but when I sent it to them they said there were too many close areas to do a proper job and they recomended chrome instead. I paid $700 and was
    very satisfied with the job.
