    Broken Brake Switch

    Hi everyone.

So I do not know how or why, but as part of the painting process i am going thru on my car, I noticed the brake switch had broken.

The plastic threaded section had snapped of from the main switch body.

So i need to purchase a replacement but it seems F5R do not list this item in the parts catalogue. Anyone know where I might source one?

    Thanks muchly.

Common Ford part, should be available at an Auto parts store.

Highly recommend the AC branded switch versus the generic one. FYI Factory Five is using a different style switch now. Mounts and wires the same but physically different. They don't have all their parts listed in their on-line catalog.

When mine broke, I found one at PEP Boys. I brought in the old one and they matched it to a mid 70's Chevelle. Pretty generic part.

Thanks for the number John. When mine died I went to AZ and found one that might work out. Then to Advance and they had the exact match. But, as usual, it's no fun going there and they ask for make, model, and year and I say I have no idea. One time the guy even tried and entered Shelby but no match.

Thanks everyone. I went to my local autoparts store (called Supercheap Auto in Australia) and found a switch made by Tridon - TBS072. Seems to be an exact copy for this generic item.

    Thanks for all the tips.

I should have credited edwardb in the original post for providing the part number in a post long ago...now fixed.
